Canon EOS recognizes that a passion for photography exists in every corner of every country. We are eager to share your passion – be it for Portrait, Landscape, Sport, or Macro photography.

The Assignment allowed amateur photographers the opportunity to submit their best work in any of these categories by uploading them onto this website from March 2008 - May 2008.

Our expert panel of judges, headed by award-winning photographer Vicki Couchman, selected two best-in-category for each country. Of these, eight finalists went through to the final stage of the competition.

These finalists then fought it out in Austria and Switzerland during the UEFA EURO 2008™ to win their place on the coveted Assignment.
